Hello all Looking for anyone going to CRST Training School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa That lives in Colorado Thought it would be a good Idea to have someone in my state to go through training and then maybe work together as a team after training (If we get along that is)

    About ME
well I have given up on welding after 17 years i just feel way under paid. +++so trucking here I come+++ .

I know allot of you are going to shot me for that statement above going from the pan to the fire sort of speak.

But I am under no delusions.
I know that I will not make sh+i+t the first 12 months and roughly about 3/4 the amount i make know as a welder/fitter.
The 2nd year then pretty good money from year 2 on (Cross Fingers).

Just got to put up with the BS for 2 years.

Hell the amount of sh+i+t I put up with when i first started welding was pretty bad and lasted for way more than 2 years and I was making nowhere near the amount a 2 year driver makes.

    +++so trucking here I come+++

    Bossman out

ooh by the way my first Boss (You know who you are GARY ) started calling me Bossman and it stuck been called that for 28 years.

At CRST you will be LUCKY if you make 1/4 the amount you made as a welder! They are one of the worst bottom feeders out there!

Trust me I used to work there!.................RUN AWAY BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!

ya iv looked at all the schools sponsor companies and they are all the same one way or another so i picked the 1 with the shortest Contract and going to do my 8 months then get out CRST has the shortest Contract in the business thats 4 months less then anyone else. yes yes they pay sh+i+t but compaired to working for someone else for and extra 4 months it weighs out to be a better deal in the end at CRST

If you make it that long.. My son made it 6 months... Run away while you still can. The contract may be short, but you won't get paid nearly as well as you would elsewhere.. Ever notice how many of their trucks are sitting at truck stops.. Why does a team truck sit?????? No freight!!!!

My year with Central is almost up and I have barely noticed it. Plus I probably will stay right where I am for some time..

CRST is the worst. You heard of the goose that laid a golden egg? Well this is the golden goose that laid an egg. You're the egg and a weasel came along and ate you! :)

I bet a $100 you ain't there in 6 months and two days.

They'll teach you a new meaning of the word "Hate". :)

I always tell people the same thing about seeing their trucks sit at night. I was running team up until last week and very rarely saw a CRST running at night, which I mostly drove.

    wow realy guys.

i have been reading the goods and bads from CRST for about 3 weks know and it's 1/2 bad and 1/2 good just about like every other sponsored training company.I want to go with Steven Trasport out of Dallas But its been 2 weeks no reply from them and I dont have the time to wait around I have saved a set amout of money that will last my family 10 to 12 months so I need to get started right away and the only trucking companies that replyed to my app was Schneider , CR England and weiner out of the 4 companies i went with CRST.

Seriously dude, that money you set aside will be gone.. The only reason my son stayed as long he did was because I kept trying to get him to wait out that eight months. Then I realized his family was practically starving.. All he ever talked about was how bad it was. No loads, getting paided by air miles, longer routes because they refuse to pay tolls, and most of all; bad co-drivers. Yes I said 'air miles'. Many a time I watched my GPS tell me air miles from my current location to a receiver and watch the practical miles double when I started moving.. Least most of the other 'starter' companies pay household good miles.. More than once I made twice what my son did on a similar run..

CRST summited a bad DAC becase my son quit early.. Luckily for him Scheinder didn't care. They considered the source.

Have you even tried talking to Swift or Central? Did you call Stevens or did you just submit an app and hope they'd call? You need to be proactive with these companies.. they have so many applicants they can afford to sit back and wait for them too call.. Think about that, because there is a reason CRST calls back with-in seconds of receiving an app..

Hell I'd go to CR England before I went with CRST.. I have been there and got away before I suffered the CRST fate...
