While I will agree you need to take a lot of what is said about any company with several grains of salt, you also need to understand sometimes the negative is 100% correct. For the record i am not one who usually posts negative stuff about any company.

People go to CRST because they didn't do enough research or they 'Heard it all' and refuse to listen, or they believed the grand promises CRST recruiters are fond of making. Dig deeper and you will find very few who last the entire eight months. In six months my son had three team drivers.. One did his best to spend my sons money. One was an idiot who refused to drive at night and the third left the company when my son did for the same reasons my son did.

It doesn't require any fore-thought to see which of the mega-carriers are running and which are sitting. A team truck doesn't or shouldn't have a reason to sit overnight or days on end. Visit a few truck stops and see which 'team' trucks are there.. If you can try to see if their trailer is sealed or not. No seal, No freight... No freight, No money being made. I see way to many CRST trucks sitting and not because they want too

However, it is your career.. You don't need to listen to any of us, but please don't come crying back here when your grand delusion is shattered by reality.. You see those are the people who scream the loudest at being wronged... Those of us who tried to warn you will probably sit back and quietly say 'we told you so'.. Well some won't be so quiet... There is a price to pay for that 8 month contract... The question is: Are you willing to pay it????

the above reason is probably why your son did not do well at CRST.

And I'm not saying it was his fault he just got some bad co-drivers and CRST will not give you loads if you cant perform

And again I,m not saying your son cant preform all I am saying is under those conditions nobody could preform.

From what I have been reading about all Trainee companies is if you get a bad wrap starting out you wont get sh+i+t for loads.and this looks like what happen to your Son.

I have read many post on here where ppl did there 8 months and started with another company and are doing fine and I have read ones like your's as well

    YOU SAID
    (((((((((((getting paided by air miles,)))))))))))))))

WOW you really think CRST is paying miles as a bird fly,s
(in a strait line from point A to point B)

then I have nothing more to say to you (that's just dumb)

this is a 750 million dollar company if they where paying (air miles) the first thing that would happen is it would be all over this web site I have read 100's of post about CRST and not one states this.

I am not defending CRST actions but com-on.

2nd thing that would happen is massive joint lawsuit.

I mean truckers are not known for taking it laying down like you spell it out to be.

CRST, will have yours up and downs. If you Do you job right, not late on loads, no bad inspections, don't refuse any loads for any reason you will be fine.

For the most part your experience with CRST is all going to depend on if you like your co-driver. Your time here and be vary bad if you can't get along with him/her?

Good luck if you have any question just ask me. I have been with CRST for 3 years.

My one question is what is the best way to find or get a good co-driver is it just a luck of the Draw or is there something I could do to better my odds???

Around your 3rd week of your 28 days there going to send you a list of available co-drivers in your area on the quelcom

Just call them up and try to find someone that you think you can get along with.

If you call some one and they say that they have been with 5 co-drivers in the last years, then you know the chance are that he not going to be the best choice. Or if the person just bad mouth the company.

One thing I did when I first started with crst was ask my co-driver is What was his long term goal with crst or any trucking company .
and we nearly had the same idea on what we wanted to do so we help each other on the way keeping each other focus on what our goal was.
This made driving with my co-drive a good experience.

BTW I have only had 1 co-driver since I started with CRST.

So CRST was in the wrong by putting on his DAC that he quit early.
Thats what he did, didn't he?

If you check out "doonerlivingstone" on youtube you'll see that he started with CRST, not sure how long he stayed but I think he has almost a years worth of videos with them. Fast forward to now and he's running double drop step decks for Kaiser Transport driving a sweet pete' and from what I can gather making good money, this guy seems to cross the country about 3 times a month, and with their cents per mile the paychecks must be nice. All I'm trying to say is there is a success story to look at, step deck might not be the course you want to take in life, but simply put it seems he had a goal in mind and sucked it up at CRST until he could fulfill that goal.

you know this from what experience... I haven't been a trucker long, but the reason companies like CRST get away with the crap they do is because new folks do take it lying down...

Yes I said Air Miles... You think they would get anyone to work for them if they actually said this to recruits... Fact is recruiters lie, and recruits accept the lies..

If all CRST did was say he quit early I would not have a problem with what they put in his DAC; however, that was not all that was said... It states he was rude to shippers and receivers, consistently late and would ave been terminated if he hadn't quit and he was not consider re-hirable.. Funny the letter he got from them begged him to reconsider..

Good luck with them. I sincerely hope you are amongst the few who actually succeed with them.. I have said all I could to warn you and will say no more..
