I am starting next friday dec. 2nd (i hope) in allanstown PA., what do i have to look forward to regarding the training, i have read that it is 160hours and other places that its 275hours.
Also how long is the orientation and what is going to go on there??
I am from a driving school, and the recruiter that came there said 160hours and 6 days in orientation but from what i read online its about 2 to 3 days orientation and then on the road.
And what is the pay for trainies for the time i am out with the trainer? and do you know where i can find the payscale?
starting with werner on dec. 2nd and need info

From info I gathered from recruiter was 3 days of orientation, out with trainer for 275 ( most likely more) if you get a trainer right off the bat.
Check out other threads about Allentown,OC orientation.
I wish you the best of luck!!

Since you are supposed to start in a few days but do not know any of these things I look forward to the I got screwed posts later.
I can tell you that unless you have prior experience your training will be longer than 160 hours. I do not know the pay scale, orientation was 2 days when I started, boredom goes on there. I don't know current training pay either, but it is not much.buddy_bill Thanks this. -
oreintation is 3 days, training is 300 hours.
What to expect, expect a sheety trainer with 6 months OTR experiance, expect to run as a team and run your butt off for a few hundred dollars GROSS a week while in the 300 hours of training. Then expect a POS truck, low miles, .25cpm, and $100-$500 a week GROSS paychecks

your not hired
. Your not hired until you get out of your trainers truck and they hand you the keys to your own truck. THEN you will be a Weiner Employee.
I recomend you find a better company, you will regret going to work for them.......

You will stay at a Quality Inn in Allentown which runs a shuttle service back and forth to the terminal. Werner orientation is 2 days. About 12 hours the first day and 8 hours the 2nd day. You will fill out a bunch of paperwork, watch videos, and do a bunch of stupid computer based training. They will lie to you and tell you what a great company they are to work for. You will be with a trainer for 275 hours before they route you back to the terminal. The training process usually takes 6-8 weeks. During this time you will gross a measly $350 a week.
