There is one other thing Arkansas WILL do as of last July.

Tow any vehicle sitting on the interstate or US highway shoulder prior to Midnight that day.

SO if you run out of gas and start walking, have that vehicle back and running before midnight when the contract tow truck shows up to take away the vehicle to the impound lot. (Which is then sold in about three weeks at auction after being unclaimed for fees unpaid)

How about a state by state law for trucks.

I do not need a list of states with the law, Just the fact that they have felt the need to enact said laws is a testament to how sorry people have become. It has always been common to move over and not only to emergency vehicles, infact it used to be somewhat of an unwritten law, especially for professional drivers.

I did stop moving over in Cali, no idea what their states law is, but it is the only state that has ticketed me for driving safe.

I know it was enacted in Louisiana because people kept slamming into cops during traffic stops. They still do.

I have noticed cops in a lot of states have over the years started parking like they intend to be slammed in blocking part of the lane.
I have also noticed they at some point in time started stopping people in dangerous places, it used to be if you just pulled over stupidly that they would tell you on their pa to go to the next safe place.

Probably the last speeding ticket I got was in Lowsiana, I forget what they called the sting, but it was truck only at shreveport. Even though cars were blowing by me, I didn't get slowed down to the 45 mile spd limit change in time. The lights came on to my surprise, so I just kept going to the next exit, which I took. I ask why I was targeted when everybody was passing me and it was obvious that I was slowing, and he explained the truck only sting operation.
He did say he had written something like 20 tickets that morning and I was the first one that went toa safe parking spot and thanked me for it.

On the flip side I had a county deputy stop me on a river bridge in Texas once to let me know I had a headlight out. It was late and no traffic, but still a 2 lane bridge, I slowed to about 20 and intended to get off the bridge before pulling over, and he put his spot light in my mirror. I locked it up and tried my hardest to get him to eat my bumper before getting out and asking what his problem was. He asked why I didn't stop when he hit his lights and I explained it would take an idiot to stop on a bridge and a fool to expect someone to, at which point I got back in my pickup and left him standing on the bridge with his jaw dropped.
His reasoning was the county line was the center of the river, groan.

Was it LSP or SPD? LSP always sets "goals" and "campaigns" where they target very specific violations. Seatbelt violations in trucks is something they focus on about 2 months out of every year too.

I had one in Florida ask my why it took so long to pull over.

Ummmmm. I"m thinking about YOUR safety.

This was just shortly after a cop got killed from being hit. I don't remember the details and location. But it was on the trucker channel. Cop probably didn't know about it yet.
