The question that I have is. I live in Georgia and have 3 trucks leased to a company in Texas. This company has several terminals thru out TX,NM,CO,AR,ND. My trucks are out of the main terminal in Texas, But the trucks are working for our NM terminal presently. Now the company transfers the trucks on paper if you work for a different terminal for more then 14 days. (so that terminal gets the credit). I understand this. Now the question is I was told since my trucks are working for the NM terminal i will have to pay NM state taxes, is this true?
Thanks
Mark

ABSOLUTELY NOT!You only pay state income taxes is your state of residence.
-
It may depend.
Are the terminals separate business entities in each state? -
Not sure. I know they give me a 1099 for each state.
-
Are the ID# for the payer the same?
The only way to have gotten a 1099 from each one is if they are separate business. On your end, you pay tax at your home, not each state. -
Ill look at the ID #. I know I pay from where I live. This was just brought up to me by the terminal mgr. I got a call into my taxman but, he hasn't got back with me yet. Ill keep post updated.
Thanks
Mark
