I'm one of the few LTL guys around that run a radio. It's always turned on. As far away as I go I hate being without one.
Thankfully, over in Delmarva there's pretty much none of the stupidity that you hear around the major cities.

Yes and always on. I'm local tanker but run a 250 mi. Radius of chicago. Wouldn't leave home with out it
-
I don't get this apparent perception that somehow only long haul guys are allowed to run a radio.
If I'm given a truck and it has a place for a radio, it's going in there, regardless of driving distance.ExOTR, rabbiporkchop, mike5511 and 2 others Thank this. -
Always have my radio on until it gets to noisey which isn't often anymore.
I don't say much unless I see someone I know . -
Don't get many replys on 13 or 113. Little better late night but still mostly silent.
-
I use my CB every day I drive. Don't always get a come back, but it's always on.
bzinger Thanks this. -
113 isn't quite as busy, at least not up to Snow Hill.
You drive for Sysco? -
No, Villari Brothers, live in Pocomoke
-
Definitely not as busy on the trucker channels as it was in the 70's, but I always have my radio on. When the SHTF, the channel(s) come alive and will get you out of a lot of time-wasting and/or dangerous situations. Leave it on and keep your ears open
rabbiporkchop and MosquitoBandito Thank this.
