Last day of July 2016 a Bohren driver plowed into a minivan out near the I-80 / I-76 split in a construction zone and killed a family of 5 plus one more person in a car that was in front of the minivan. I'm trying to keep astride of this case, as the driver, a guy who came out without a scratch, had a suspended CDL and 7 previous wrecks, yet was still allowed to be on the road. Anyone have the latest? I've looked for news in the Trucker magazine from the T/As and Petros, but there's no word. The driver was arrested and was awaiting trial the last I heard.

Jesus almighty. Three of the killed were kids, all under 5. One was an infant. I know the relatives sued the trucking company, the state of Nebraska, and the construction company. But man...somebody else has got to go to jail over it. Suspended CDL and 7 priors. What the hell was the driver looking at when he came up on the slowdown?

The wreck happened on a Sunday morning, and I drove past the site the next day, about 28 hours later. I didn't know when I drove through the scene what had happened. I saw a burned Boehren trailer in the median and scorch marks on the pavement, plus I could smell it. Then I researched that night and found out what happened.

I actually wondered about that the other day as I went to fareway in Boone ia ..never heard anymore about either incident .
Anyway about the fareway driver I asked about him today when at they're dc .
Nobody knew much other than that fareway bailed him out of jail in Omaha and he's running a lawn mower now .

Stayinback, I don't know where you got that info from, but you need to go back and get a refund. That guy's trial hasn't even started yet. Try posting the truth next time.

Trial set for trucker in crash that killed 6

You don't have any good reason to talk to people like that here. Stayinback could have been talking about another wreck, gotten false information he thought was credible or any other number of honest mistakes. Give him the benefit of a doubt is all I'm saying.

...........and that article is six months old. He could have pleaded guilty & taken a plea by now. Just because that six month old article says Dec 12, dont mean he hasnt settled by now. Personally, I have no clue about the case, but I agree, the tone of Thane's post was outta line.

It must be a trucker friendly state if that's all he got.He should have got 10 years for each person killed and no chance of parole until 75% time served.
