Well your experience is your experience. All I can say is that I am happy with them. But like I said, I am in the bulk division. Things are different on the van side.

Well sir, I don't really know what you mean by "win"? Are we going to arm wrestle? All I can say is that if you're still driving for Conway, you are definitely not a winner. And, yes, a driver will be lucky if he breaks $35,000 a year working there. Like I say; go to any truck stop and speak to as many drivers as possible. See for yourself how bad pay and conditions really are. Realtor, I know exactly what you do and what you are paid for it and for you or anybody else that still thinks that you've got something good going on there, well, you are big time mistaken. Nevertheless, I would like to take you up on the offer of coffee. It wont take much to talk some good advice into you and show you that you could do sooooo much better. Feel free to message me at any time.

Double, you are way off about the unions. It is the LACK of unions that are keeping pay and conditions so poor in these professions. I made a decision to move out of trucking and into a union job. Best move I ever made. $44.00 an hour, plus PAID insurance, an annuity, AND a pension. And then I hear you hurting your own self by your anti union baloney. You are absolutely wrong and shame on you for using other reader's ignorance against them by stating all your untruths. Unions are the ONLY way to go. Period. Not sure what your profession at Conway really is but, if you're a driver, I know exactly what you do and what you make and it certainly isn't pretty. Most drivers there are choking and have absolutely nothing. Nor will they ever. To them I say, "move on and get out"! These driving jobs pay so poorly that they are not difficult to replace. I can go back and forth with you "Conway Flag Wavers" all day and maybe I will from now on, but here again is the REAL DEAL: If you are considering going to Conway Truckload, personally go to as many truck stops as possible and physically talk to as many drivers as possible. Ask them about average miles and pay/ how much is health insurance/ treated by driver managers with some degree of respect/ do they have a truck that is constantly breaking down? Etc. And one other thing, Double, it sounds like maybe you do know a bit more about "expected values" than myself. After all, those words really sound more like "hopeful dreams" to a lay person such as myself. Personally, I lay store on my own values, and I call them "concrete reality", as all my "fair pay for fair labor" compensation accumulates nicely in a safe place.

Wrong! Here we go again. Yep, I probably did something lame and brought it on myself..... No sir! I quit when I realized that this is a dead end job with no future of improving, and I am speaking not only for myself but also for all (and I do mean all) the other drivers that I spoke to during my year with this company.
I know that you newbies don't like to hear anything negative about your career choice so give yourself a little time. And talk to other drivers whenever you get to a Conway terminal. It doesn't get any better. If you have signed on with Conway (or any other mega carrier) then you have made a big mistake. Low, low pay and lousy working conditions. Meanwhile, the "fellows at the top", (some refer to them as "executives"), are all raking in record profits.
Really, the only decent ways to make a living in this industry anymore are to either own your own truck outright (that is, NO payments), or to drive for a smaller company that treats their drivers more fairly (if you are fortunate enough to find one).
As mentioned before, there are three characteristics that seem to be common among those that continually defend the mega carriers. These characteristics are: #1. Total Denial. #2. Total ignorance. #3. Person is posting false, positive information with the expectation of some form of compensation from company.
There ya have it, kids. And one more thing; ever notice how my posts here are the only ones to actually suggest (maybe even, plead)? that anyone considering signing on with ANY mega carrier please go to any truck stop first and physically talk to the drivers? That way, one can obtain the real truth as to what these companies have to offer; while at the same time avoiding all the rhetoric and dogma (some call it bull****) that are so prevalent here in cyberville.

A friend who's still at CWTL told me the company is going with the following distance sensors and other big brother BS. Is this true?

lol surfer sorry im not a newbie i have been in the business for almost five years now and have been with two difefrent companies including one called crete. And i have to say conway is the best one so far sorry to say you said you had problems getting miles i find it hard to believe. Heck i have allready had a check where i brought home not grossed but brought home 900 dollars. So apparently you either dont know how to manage your log book or you griped and moaned about every load they gave you. Maybe its you that companies need to stay away from.

O! in case you have not noticed all the companies are going with sensors and cameras. Tell you the truck the cameras they are testing out can save your ### one of these days. We all know how cars love to cut in front of big rigs and if you end up crushing one of them when they cut you off that camera is going to catch that so instead of you going to prision the companies lawyer can have the jury watch the video and save you from being someones girlfriend in prision. I know you think is messed up that companies are doing it but the way i look at it it can also be used to save you from prision and may also save your career.
