Yah; the list of what a guy/gal has to ask a company when researching them for new jobs keeps getting longer and longer. Now we have to ask if they have cameras in the trucks???
I don't believe it YET.....but I'm sure it can and will happen at some point.
The driver will scream "invasion of privacy"....and the company will claim "monitoring the 'work place'".....the company will win. Bull snot!!!
Stay away from ROEHL!!

I worked in the office at Roehl before I moved away and started working at another trucking company. If you feel you are treated poorly at Roehl its probably because you suck as a driver. From what I can compare and contrast in my limited experience Roehl is a class act, anyone would be lucky to work for them.
childerscarl1, notezbngrn71 and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
As for Roehl hiring someone to watch their drivers road performance. I believe this to be true. I got a drivers achievement award once, and to tell you the truth I called bull stinky on it. At the time my dispatcher told me that someone had called in and given me a good report. I told him that I didn't care and that in the future good or bad, I didn't want to know. Because at any given time someone could just be pulling a stunt, just to get their jollies off, and I didn't want to be taking credit either good or bad. But I'd always thought that the person that called in, knew Roehl because, it just seemed fishy. Then I found out that carriers sometimes hire companies to monitor their drivers with camera's and then I knew.
This incident occured in what state you might guess?? None other than Wisconsin. Madison, Wisconsin. In a construction zone on 39/94 i believe it was. I was wondering how many other EVO3 drivers had this happen to them?
On the other hand, maybe my driving is so freakin good that ol' J. Spiros and R. Roehl had no choice but to give me recognition. I just wish they would have put a gold sticker on it. I like stickers.
So..Keep your wheels a spinnin' and your beavers a grinnin, and I'm clear. -
I agree with your assesment driverkc.....except, I HATE stickers.

stickers? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING STICKERS!

Depending on the type of camera, which way it's pointed would be important. Is it shooting into the sleeper? If so I think I'd throw a jacket or blanket over the thing. The company going to complain about not being able to see what you're doing in the sleeper? I'd suggest if so, tell them you sleep in your B-day suit, and no one should be subjected to such involuntary photographing of such.
If they're doing this for what reason(s)? Have there been problems with the driver, and this is a way to gather their evidence? If there is that degree of a problem, it should be simple, terminate the driver. There should not be the need to place hidden surveillance cameras inside the trucks. -
I dont know anything about roehl but I do know a company rep suckup when I see one. HMMMMMMM..... I bet you like most trucking companies as I see your not listed as a driverLinc460, diesel_weasel, Clipping1 and 1 other person Thank this.

I was at a dock in Carthage, MO with one of the drivers from Associated Wholesale a few weeks ago, and he SHOWED me a camera in his cab when I wouldn't believe him. This is the company who had a 76 year old driver plow into traffic pile-up near Miami, OK, killing 10 people. -
Sorry, I'm proud and lucky not to work for Roehl. I like to make money instead of getting negative checks, due to long layovers, low to non-existent detention pay and high health insurance rates.Clipping1 and Mommas_money_maker Thank this.

If it was so great then why did you leave?Clipping1 and Mommas_money_maker Thank this.
