Yeah I see a lot of 150 mile local hauls around me post for $300. That's a $2 rate. Is that what you want? That's easy. There's no money in it but there's plenty of it.

Well at least $2 a mile would be good over I would try to go for.

You'll never know by asking on a forum. Might as well go for it and see for yourself. Brokered freight is really depressed right now. It is NOT a truck's market in setting the rates and hasn't been for a year or so. There are simply too many trucks out here fighting over too little freight. Rates are reflective of that everywhere amongst all types of freight they are down. If you are sitting on a pile of cash with paid for equipment I always said there is never a bad time to dive in, although now is dicey. If you have a wife and family to feed with 2 car payments, a mortgage, a boat payment and you're barely getting by you're about to embark on an adventure of financial ruin that will probably cost you your family as well. That's how it is and what the stakes are.
whoopNride and 04 LowMax Thank this. -
I live at home and so income isn't really going out. How long does it take to get the mc number.

All I will say is I hope your "business" plan includes a bankruptcy lawyer . Because you have the perfect plan for failure down pat .
Good luck but I think it will take a miracle not to crash and burn at this rate . -

Just my two cents....but the DOT and MC# you keep asking about are the very least of your concerns.

I've been wantingto go O/O for some time. I read. And ask questions. And read more. Then, I ask more. About anyhing you asked can be answered on this forum or google. There are other O/Os who have shared there experience already, detailing what is needed, the lumps they took and the good times too. Go read, search. I could link three of such threads I've read in the last month, but if you can't take the intitiative to go look yourself, you ain't gonna mske it as an O/O.
jbatmick Thanks this.
