Ok, IN has the stupid steer axle max at 12,000 lbs. I was thinking, foolishly, less weight up front and more in the rear should help... So I slid the tandems. Gained 40 lbs. CRAP! I don't have time to be screwing with this in the morning. Do I have to slide my fifth wheel or just go the other direction with my tandems? I havent really had this problem before but I know if I don't fix it I'm gonna end up getting sum ### scale me in the morning and there will go my week! Steer 12,400; drive 31,62; tandems 33,000. Anybody?! Cant idle long enough to lose 400 lbs either... HELP

Slide your 5th wheel back a notch or two. This will take weight off your steer and onto your drives.

If you can, slide your fifth wheel back just a little.it might be easier if you wind down your landing gear before you slide it. Taking some weight off the fifth wheel makes it easier to slide.

And once again TTR beats dispatch by a mile. Thanks, I kinda thought so but this beats trial and error. If this doesn't work in the morning expect a lengthy complaint! Never mind that it will go down in your permanent record. If it works I'll say thanks again when I stop, lol

As said in an earlier post lower the landing gear and drop the air out of you suspension on the drive axles before you slide the 5th wheel. Also make sure you 5th locks re-engage.

I've been through Indiana many times with steers over by 300 to 500. Don't have a slider for fifth wheel. Never been questioned a single time or pulled over. I was never over on gross.

about 3 teeth on the 5th wheel should do it.. but, what's your fuel status? Always try to leave room for fuel weight too, roughly 7 lbs a gallon.

Jimmny cricket, Call Your Travel Agent, I,m over weight, what shall I do. Don't make the mistake of what the company might do. Your the Driver, that's all. Unless your an O/O then it's your problem.
