My steer tires are wearing oddly. The driver side is worse than the right side but both are doing it. These are good year LHS steers have 144,000 miles so they did give me a good year but I want my new tires to not do this.
TIA

Inspect and replace shocks if needed.
Balance issue most likely caused the wear in the photo.
Balance more frequently or consider centrimatics.Coolbreezin, Stringb8n, Rideandrepair and 2 others Thank this. -
Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Air pressure, then shocks, then alignment, worn steering components, last check king pins.

I have not checked the king pins. How do you do that? Truck is newish International with 144,000 miles and was jacked up and greased well every 12-20K.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Did you rotate these tires, Dismount and spin, etc? King pin wear shows on the inside, wheel bearing adjustment or play, usually also shows on the inside.
I usually blame these only on alignment (obviously tie rod end wear could exacerbate), but sometimes it's just tire issues.
Especially if you haven't had driveability issues. Not a huge fan of GY myself, but for 140k+, I'd be happy.Rideandrepair and 4wayflashers Thank this. -
