"Steer" tires?

    Are these really made from steers? I can't imagine cattle hide has any advantage over rubber, or is it more for the looks?

    Yes, they get them from Icelandic cows due to the colder weather they endure. From what I've been told, it does something to the hide that causes a change to the hide on a molecular level. They have been testing hides from Switzerland but haven't had any success. They found tiny imperfections that won't allow higher air pressures to be used.

    They are more for the looks. They remind me of the old western movies when some cowboys had plain leather chaps and then one guy had the real furry looking ones, same principle.

    And just how do 'air brakes' work? Do they just blow on the rotors so hard it slows the truck down?
