I'm just finishing training and have driven 2 trucks, both Freightliners. The 1st was a 2020 Cascadia and the second is a 2018 day cab. The 2020 steers like the old 1941 Ford pickup we had when I was a kid. You couldn't move the steering wheel an inch or 2 and keep it on the road. You had to crank it nearly a 1/4 turn to make the wheels move . The Cascadia is almost as bad as our old Ford. The day cab is a pleasure to drive in comparison.

I was talking to another driver this morning who had just picked up a new 2021 Cascadia today and has the same issue. What can be done to tighten up the steering on this exhausting tractor?

That doesn't sounds possible on new truck. It would not have play in the steering yet. Did you grease the fifth whee. I'm driving a 2020 Freightliner and nothing wrong it.

5th wheel is well greased. I'm a rookie but this is going on with an experienced driver as well. 2 different Cascadias, 2020 and 2021.
