    Educate, plan and execute. Know and understand your numbers. Inflows less outflows. Fuel .55 per mile, @ 4.00 per gallon, truck trailer maintinance for older model paid for equipment .20 per mile. Fixed cost .10 per miled. Figures based on 120 K miles per year. Are good bars to try to work for.

    I've narrowed my search down to mercer. So now it's between marriage or running my own authority. I hear so many good things about mercer it's mighty enticing to check em' out. But I'm turned off by their "picky" inspections twice a year on top of initial orientation. And their checklist for required equipment is a little ridiculous to me. Plus I'm a little confused by the first come first served policy. Not really sure how I will be capable of booking loads ahead of time like that. Maybe I'm missing something on that..

    1st mt truck has 1st choice of loads on the board. I have had my authority for 20 years and it really seems to be working. I cant seem to get leased bguys to tell me how they are doing. Its like a big secret for some reason.
