You'll get the feel for it pretty quick on how to set up your runs. I pick my load up the afternoon before for the next morning. Head down to ####hole jersey unload and bounce back to reload. If you keep a 200 mi radius it's pretty easy to get a load a day once you get the feel in your area. Stay away from bigger places, 80% of what we do is mom and pop places. I won't tell you the exact rate but running back empty is 2.94mi on all. Get on avg 8 loads a week going there
Sorry for hijacking your thread @Misesian I'll let you continue. Like reading your posts about mpg. Best I get if i keep her at 65 with the '93 is 7.8 running loaded 1 way and never shut the truck off til im back at the yard

This month did ok. The Volvo was down a whole week due to maintenance, Friday-Friday, and while he was home in AR recently, couldn’t roll that week either until Friday; lots of missed revenue. I was off 6 days at the beginning of the month. 69,365 revenue, 14.2% DH, 69,365 revenue, average loaded miles 601. I kept myself in the northeast all month, avg length of haul of only 412 miles this month.
Tug Toy, dwells40 and Constant Learner Thank this. -

While I was off all week, I was getting a lot of maintenance done. I got the Fleet Air Filter installed, did a bearing adjustment on all wheel ends using the Dr. Preload tool, had to replace turbo actuator, got the new Michelin Multi Energy Z2 steer tires, alignment, new bulkhead in reefer, and repaired the damage in the nose, and I got a DieselForce clean done.
The turbo actuator has been leaking coolant a lot lately was the reason there. I was getting an intermittent engine code for reduced EGR flow because the EGR cooler was getting clogged, so I got the DieselForce done. These new steers are a new product from Michelin, released in February, and are a better fit for what I do. It’s been months, but Fleet Air Filter finally has one for the LT, I sent them an air filter housing a while back to build it. And, the Dr. Preload is a great product. It’s a bearing adjustment tool and a highly recommend it.Tug Toy, loudtom and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
I hadn’t heard of those new steers yet. I’ll check them out.Tug Toy Thanks this. -
Dave_in_AZ, PPLC and Brettj3876 Thank this.
