Well, I was already looking into some things when this guy called me. Once I'm for sure this will work I'll fill in the rest of the details. It involves some investment I wasn't planning on but makes sense having this deal in my pocket.
At the dealer today wrapping things up and saw this FUBAR LT there a driver had rolled. Not even 6 mos old and it's toast. The other pic is my winter cover from Alaska Tent and Tarp. Dropped my trailer off after getting the ABS fixed again, I'll grab it Sunday morning and I've got 4K to NJ for Tuesday morning. In the meantime I've got good whiskey to go to town on and a friend to chill with to keep me busy, as well as a few things to do regarding this "investment" I'm working on to begin the first week of February. Big PIA so far but I think It will work out. I'm a pretty good estimator, and my estimates say it will alright.
Hope it goes well for you. I don't have that much energy and the outfit I'm leased to does a great job for a reasonable slice of the pie. One of the major reasons I stay is the fuel purchase program. I'm curious what your plan is to deal with fuel cost?
I have a fuel card through NASTC. It is a cost plus program as long as I fuel in the network. My price is within a few pennies of the big guys.
Well, another driver cut me off when I was getting ready to setup for my door. I waited on him and as he went around he tore the door off my trailer. His company is going to pay for it but this is really screwing me up. I have a really good paying load to get here and my 14 is ticking.
This is where you play hard ball and demand money for loss revenue. They won't pay it so you will have to hire an attorney, and then they will offer a settlement. If you got all your ducks in a row and paperwork right, it's very simple to figure out the daily average profit from your equipment. Thats all it takes to be awarded the correct amount plus any and all attorney fees. It only comes down to if the headache and waiting game is worth the difference between what you could have made, and what they offer.
Spider what lane were you running for ups? I was doing Jax to Naples, they didn't seem to have their stuff together up as much as previous years. Coyote kept snatching my route numbers b4 I would get in there. Had to get to take different centers Tampa, Sarasota,Bradenton and Punta Gorda, but still paid Naples money, so I didn't complain to much.
