Sure will. I'm thinking of having Dorthy installed on my truck as well. It seems to do a good job of eliminating most of the soot.

I’ve heard some good things about it. If your truck is out of warranty I’d do it. If you add components on to the motor any manufacturer is going to try and pin a failure on you, even though the Dorothy is completely safe.

    RStewart Thanks this.

I know a guy that is checking with Cummins about adding it without voiding the warranty but I'm sure mine is out of warranty. I guess I need to ask Cummins about it though to be sure.

If you drive like Misesian suggests, your engine will probably also run cooler. For my truck, Volvo D16, climbing steep grades, it will run 220-225 instead of 235-240.

The new A26 stays between 190 and a hair over 200 90% of the time. The only tome it goes up to 225 or 230 is on the really long grades and even then, that’s only if I’m driving those during the day. If it’s at night, even those grades might only get it to 220. The fan rarely kicks on as the motor keeps cool on its own. This is a good thing until winter time. I didn’t get my winter cover until the end of December and during that month without in such cold weather my mileage was only 7.3 that month. Once I got the winter cover on there it went back to normal. If the temp is 28 or lower I say it’s a necessity to have one on the A26.

I pull 30+lbs of boost when in the mountains and I've yet to have my temps get over 220. I'm not even sure they've reached that yet. At 210 the fan comes on and cools the motor down.

Final number for the month was 12,800 miles, most I’ve run so far, and 9.1 mpg. It didn’t feel like I ran that much. I had to double check my spreadsheet and make sure I didn’t enter a load in twice but it was correct.

That is awesome fuel mileage. What kind of weight are you usually grossing?

So I guess 220 is normal? I’m in a 2017 t800 and climbing one grade in particular I get up to 221 or so and got worried so I turned off the A/C. Guess I won’t worry about it now.

I’d say average weight of allloads, 72k. I am loaded over 70k most of the time with some 65-68 in there. I pull mainly for two brokers right now. The bulk of what I do is Tyson frozen product. They do a pretty good job of packing it on to get the most out of me for their money.
