I did not want to say it , but I will say it anyway. Before you do any lease, or work under someone else's authority, take your time to research. if I was me, I WILL NEVER DO THAT!, period. I rather drive for someone who pays me really good and treat me well or I become 100% independent O/O , that will be my only two alternatives.Last Call Thanks this.

My dad used to say “ I can think of a thousand reasons not to do it but I’m going to anyway “

No where near amount you need to be a business that serves another. That is what a real owner operator is. If you need support to serve your customer.., Then you’re a company driver paying expenses.Vampire Thanks this.

He’s talking about leasing on to a carrier. It’s not rocket science. The life of a glorified company driver like I am is pretty decent sometimes. Fuel card with deep discounts, money in the bank next week for your work. $20-30k is plenty in the bank for the route they’re wanting to take.

And unless you like being on hold with the IRS for eternity DO NOT lose that EIN number ! Dont ask how I know this lol .
Siinman Thanks this. -
Engine rebuild, predatory tow, etc… being leased on your customer is the carrier.

I get what you’re saying, but other than the occasional horror story, what are the realistic chances of that happening and blowing through $30k before your first check comes in after a week?Siinman Thanks this.
