If you have done your your research and homework the company your lookng to lease on with could answer your questions that you ased here I can tell from your reply to @TruckerPete1990 's theres a high probability your gona be back on here with in a years time after you buy your truck asking what your gota do to make money Cause your like about 70% of theguys that come herr asking questions about becoming a O/O and don't listen to the advice or warnings offered to you.. because reguadless your gona buy a truck and get rich Best of luck too ya
I did not want to say it , but I will say it anyway. Before you do any lease, or work under someone else's authority, take your time to research. if I was me, I WILL NEVER DO THAT!, period. I rather drive for someone who pays me really good and treat me well or I become 100% independent O/O , that will be my only two alternatives.
No where near amount you need to be a business that serves another. That is what a real owner operator is. If you need support to serve your customer.., Then you’re a company driver paying expenses.
He’s talking about leasing on to a carrier. It’s not rocket science. The life of a glorified company driver like I am is pretty decent sometimes. Fuel card with deep discounts, money in the bank next week for your work. $20-30k is plenty in the bank for the route they’re wanting to take.
And unless you like being on hold with the IRS for eternity DO NOT lose that EIN number ! Dont ask how I know this lol .
I get what you’re saying, but other than the occasional horror story, what are the realistic chances of that happening and blowing through $30k before your first check comes in after a week?
