Stevens/Knight connection?

    Had a driver tell me today that Stevens acquired Knight. I haven't heard this previously. When I was with Knight they were supposedly debt free. I don't know anything about Stevens financial status. Anyone else hear this or was this guy just off his meds?

    I cannot comment on his Meds as that falls under doctor client privilege.

    It is my guess that for Stevens to come up with the money to take over Knight someone would have had to hit the Powerball a few times.

    I know Knight has been trying to acquire USA. And Stevens has made acquisitions in the last 10 years. Some of the stuff you hear out here.........

    I heard USA Truck just got bought out recently (within the last month). I can't think of who it was offhand but I'm sure someone here should know the deal.

    No, there is no truth to that rumor.
    Yes, I'm pretty confident Stevens has the cash to do it if they wanted, but why? There are plenty of other 'bargains' out there to be had if Stevens was in the aquiring mood.
    This rumor seems to surface every couple years or so.
