You are welcome. I try to be as straight forward about Stevens as I can be. Glad you gleened some information that prepared you so that you could meet your home obligations, and stay employed.
Leese from anyone in the trucking industry is a hard route to take, but it can be a profitable route for the right person. Although you did not leese, I am glad I was able to be of some help.

Others have chimed in with facts. Buying and selling a truck will always be a net loss. simple math and economics. Equipment is never worth more than you paid for it, and a truck is a piece of equipment to do a job. Now for you it is important to be able to say "look over there, I own that". Not a big concern to me.
I have no desire to own a fleet of trucks.
Now I will play your game of mine is bigger than yours....
Vacation, 2 weeks for christmas and New Years each year. 2 weeks in july each year. I have been to the red square Moscow, Russia, been to Bishkek Kyrgyzstan, great people, fantastic mountains, I have drank fermented goats milk in a Mongolian hut, goes down smoother than well aged whiskey, and has more kick than moonshine. All this on self guided tours. I have cruised the Black Sea and Danube River (tour package).
I will spend this july with a few select friends in the Wilderness of Northern Wyoming. Far away from people who think their way is the only way to make a profit.JohnBoy, Rattlebunny, Dryver and 1 other person Thank this. -
Attn Stevens Transport Drivers:
Just a quick question. I have a pre-hire with both Stevens and Prime. Both haul reefers, and both have training. I am a newbie, no exp. etc.... Prime says this, and Stevens says this. In your honest opinions......What company would you choose and why? Not trying to steal your thread TLeaHeart...... Your advice before has been helpful. I just don't want to make a mistake in this industry. I have a feeling on who I will choose, just thinking about any things I might have missed. Thanks.bigdognyc Thanks this. -
It comes down to which company do you think you will fit in with. They both push a new driver to lease. I am biased, working for Stevens, and I have NOT worked for or investigated Prime.
I hope others will ad their opinions.maverick77 and bigdognyc Thank this. -
Dryver, it wouldnt matter if I showed you by business plan or not. You people just get sucked into the same Devils game. I dont have to show you I'm successful, I dont have to show you anything. Youre too dumb to read about 2000 pages on why leases dont work and why you shouldnt go to them. Why is the OOIDA always suiing Prime, England and Stevens for 1 reason or another, Stevens for non payment of insurance claims? Why in the world would anyone fall into these traps time after time after time? Read this site, this is from 4 years ago and they havent changed.

As far as travel goes, I've been everywhere! I dont care if all of you lease from Stevens or Prime. I'll still be rolling between Baltimore and Seattle. I try to be as straight forward as I can, Stevens has an over 100% turnover rate. Any Questions??? 1)POOP runs down hill, the boss is always right. Any Questions? See 1)

Passin Thru,
My instincts tell me what you say are right, but then I never really looked seriously into them and I've just started looking into drivin' for a living again so I feel like I don't know #### from peanut butter -

As far as law suits go, they don't mean a thing. Anyone can sue anyone anytime for anything.
I, and others have made the lease option work for us. You choose to think that your way is the only way to make money.
And NO you have not been everywhere, or you would not have made such a big deal of going to Asia, and trying to say all I do is work.
All training companies have over 100% turn over rate. 90% of those should have never tried to be a truck driver. Mcdonalds has over a 100% turn over rate too!!!
Yep the Boss always thinks he is right, and I have the option of walking away if I disagree.
Now why don't you live up to your handle and just pass thru, and keep your closed mind to your self.Emulsified, Rattlebunny, Dryver and 2 others Thank this. -
June 14 to 20
Miles ran 3035 good week with Stevens for a solo
Miles paid, 2707
Miles transfloed, 0 monday 2364
Started this week getting new steers put on the truck, as no one seems able to align the truck to stop the wear. go figure, of course it might have to do with the places I have went to. And zero miles the first day, due to no hours.
I would do a 34 hour reset, but Stevens policy says I can not while under load. So on Wednesday I have a delivery to C&S in chester NY...C&S always suck, union shops, no courtesy. arrive, and the only informative person is the guard at the shack. everyone else justs grunts and points.
3 hours and I am empty, and now to try and find parking north of New York city at Midnight. This C&S will not let you stay after being empty. I find a hotel with truck parking, get me a room, have a good shower, and a good sleep. Get up, see I have a load picking up on long Island, Yesterday, going to San Antonio, for Friday. Not gonna happen, but I head over and get the truck washed, trailer washed, and washed out, needed it too.
Takes me 3 1/2 hours to make it to the shipper, only 125 miles away. find the "truck entrance" pull in. wait my turn. only took 3 hours to get loaded, with something called Sabra, a Mediterranean bean dip. Well now to get out of New York....yea at 4 in the afternoon...actually went well, only took 2 hours to get to the GW bridge, and then out on 80 to my fuel stop on 78. A cluster of a pilot with only 2 ULSD pumps. Get a message appointment has been moved to monday at 0500...well I can do that.
Head down to Carlise PA for the night.
Next night is spent in Dandridge TN Pilot, not much of a pilot, but many restaurants within walking distance.
uneventful week.Dryver, bigdognyc, slabrunner and 1 other person Thank this.
