It's not about needing an umbrella. Its simply about some cold hard truths. You think some recruiter or company man will tell you the truth? Just do your research and in vestigate all companies you want to work for with due dilligence.

Leslie (don't want to throw her last name out there outa respect)....she was recomended by 2 of the drivers there at Stevens. She was very polite, helpful and professional.

I have heard of her but never met her.

I had Katrina. I have read here that several say that Katrina will lie to your face but Im not sure about that. I went to the hiring seminar that she gave at a local hotel and she didnt seem to sugar coat anything. The only thing I think that she may have mislead was the amount of home time. She said every 3-4 weeks but I have a feeling its more like 5-6 weeks.

I am ok with the 5-6 weeks anyway. Leslie hasn't elaborated either way in reference to time off..and quite frankly I haven't asked..I wasn't going into this blind... I knew what I was getting myself into as far as time obligations...plus with todays technology you can see family everyday anyway.. I came to the conclusion that it is going to take 100% effort. I figure the first 12-18 months is going to be the start of my learning curve. There is no use in over exaggerating my knowledge or expectations of this field at this juncture. So after 12-18 months I should have a better perception as to which way I want to go....and with a bit more experiance...I may have a few more choices besides New Driver companies as well as be a bit more marketable to companies...but like I said earlier..I am not going to over exaggerate my knowledge at this time.

Tleaheart, I am actually looking to get back into the business and started with an otr company after 8 years away from the business. I think Steven is a good company to started with, I like to know a recruiter that would get me into the program and give me a chance to actually work for them if you know someone there who willing to get a driver back into the profession. Thanks.

    MICHAEL00 Thanks this.
