Stevens has some freight up to Oregon and Washington, but in 3 years, I have not been to the Northwest 10 times. The trainers have to go that way, to get a student that region.

Stevens tries to stay away from the bad weather areas when they can.
Western OR and WA can be a problem in the winter...The Blues, The Gorge, Snoqualmie.
So most of the loads run with the trainers or like Florida, are reserved for locals going home.
My home changes nearly each time I go home. My wife moves from one kid's house to another about every 3-4 months, as she plays Grandma. So my hometime varies location. However, most of the time it's Portland, Seattle or Boise. (She visits the last kid and family in San Diego in the winter)
I have no problem getting home when I want, but I also know we don't have a lot of drivers from that part of the country.
If they hire you from that area, they'll get you home. -
hi guys!!!! i have a question???? where is the closest terminal or parking lot to park your truck If you live in Queens NY. thanks in advance for your answer and be safe out there.....
-
Stevens only has one terminal in Dallas, TX. You should be able to secure the truck at a nearby KW or Pete dealer.

How'z it goin TLeaHeart? It's been about 7 weeks without an update. Where have you been lately? Hope all is well.
Lots of good info about Stevens in general and their Alliance lease program. (NOT Lease Purchase) There is a LOT of negativity about so many companies, including Stevens on this forum and beyond. Makes one second guess as to which company to choose to start with. I am glad that you have added over a year and a half worth of your ups and downs with Stevens. In addition you explain the logistics of your runs with the amount of hours you have, weather conditions, dealing with Stevens dispatch and shippers, when you eat and shower. An honest look at life on the road that can help any new driver no matter what company, to have an idea of what it's really like to be a trucker. Thank you for putting in the time to report on your trucking life.
I am a new CDL holder thru a private school and I am scheduled for O1 in Dallas next Saturday, Oct 16th. I am glad that I won't be beholding to them by going thru their school. I plan on putting in hard work with a positive attitude like you have shown thru this thread. As far as Alliance goes.. It sounds like that I'd like to do in the future, but I want to get started as a company driver first for a while before taking the plunge. One step at a time -

From what I understand is that they have one "official" terminal in Dallas, however I recently found this: http://www.stevenstransporttl.com/washington.htm

Stevens has the one terminal in Dallas, but some drop yards run in co operation with other companies in other cities. For example, there is the yard in Laredo run in conjunction with Alvarez, the broker we use primarily to send and bring things across the border.
Or the drop yard in SoCal connected with Mason-Dixon.
If you're looking for where you will be able to drop your trailer and truck on hometime, Stevens has worked out a deal with Peterbilt, Kenworth and Thermo-King. It's not usually a problem. -
Takes some time to keep updating each week, and life got in the way. I post regularly over in the aviary. But thanks for reading, and the feedback.
