Do not become a lease operator. This guy posting is a recruiter I should know. I left the lease op w $6000 in the hole, and that was just Oct- Dec. I'm company side again making little money, but it's in my pocket.

Quote whatever post you are referring to so we can all follow.
I'm not sure who you're referring to or what the post was, but I'm sorry you didn't make it in the lease program.
Stevens lease program is excellent. But you have to follow the program or you will get in the hole.
I've been leasing and doing great.
My last year as a solo driver and leasing netted me over $50,000.
    As a trainer, I've netted over $70,000.
I know a lot of lease operators at Stevens that do well.
And we're not shills or recruiters.
Leasing isn't for everyone, but it's great for many.

I am not a recruiter and if you knew anything about stevens you would realize that.

Sorry you did not succede at the lease, which is a business. Just reading your few posts it is obvious you do not know how to manage your time or when to say know.

Digruntlued you are, but tell the truth.

    Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

For yr information I ran my own business. I ran every load that they gave me. The problem was not w me it was with my DM. When I asked for another one they said no. I know how to run my truck and how to purchase fuel. My fiancé and myself were not getting the miles that we needed to get paid.

In another post you said Stevens was running you so hard you didn't have time to eat, shower or go to the bathroom.
You accused Stevens of doing nothing but running you hard and not caring.
Well if you ran so hard, how can you NOT have made money?
Hundreds of lease operators at Stevens make money...good money...and run solo.
I think there is more to your story than you are letting on.
Glad you're doing better now. Hope it continues to do better for you.

Better keep your story straight across threads.
Sure blame it on the DM... the DM does NOT get you your loads officially.
And If you require a new DM, it is easy to change. I have done it when needed.

Obviously you did not, or you would have been profitable.

I posted my numbers to show just how difficult alliance is the first years.
I stuck with it, and now am reaping the benefits.

I appreciate this thread TLeaHeart, I'm thinking about going through the Stevens CDL training..

I do have a question though, can you turn down loads you don't want to haul ? Are there consequences ?

Stevens is forced dispatch you take what they send you.

As an alliance driver (lease) you are told you may refuse loads but the penalty is no empty paid miles and you will wait a day or two before being dispatched again.
