No I hate them with a passion. I almost threw a chair at one of the head safety, adrian wheeler . but they did train me first trainer was a ###, 3 weeks with him and I still counldn't float, complain to the company and they told me if i came back i would hav to get a waiting list for a trainer

Seems like most of the problems are with people driving Solo, how is it for Teams. They pay 8 cents per mile more to start as a team, that's a considerable difference. What that says to me is they run the teams hard and they probably get the betetr loads is this true?

well im off to stevens next week, wish me luck!

Sheesh, I have read a whole bunch of stuff about training outfits in the past year but the story outline on Stevens takes the show. Hell, I don't even want to eat food that was delivered on one of their trucks. If the public knew about this third world prostitution sort of employment, a boycott of products hauled could really kick them back into the mainstream.
No one expects for working folks to be treated the way the narrative on Stevens reads. Do you think the customers want to be associated with such an organization? I don't. Even though this is all anecdotal testimony and essentially by trainee recruits the sheer abundance is manifest.
Before seeing this story line on Stevens, I thought the most deceptive trucking outfit was CR England.
I think I will have a talk with the Schneider outfit and see about getting started there. I have only been in the cab of a tractor once, a friend was passing through Little Rock and I stopped to see him for lunch and see his new truck.
Thanks to all for your expressive and compelling commentary on Stevens, I am adequately forewarned and will proceed accordingly!

I'm curious after reading this whole thread. It seems the majority of the complaints are from those who go through the Stevens Driving School then spend weeks with a trainer and another stretch with another trainee. How does Stevens treat the more experienced drivers? I have been driving for 14 years. The last 10 years I've had jobs that have gotten me home every night. Last year I was laid off and spent 2 months out of work and then went to work for a food service delivery company (thats a whole nother topic). I decided that I wanted to go back out over the road and came across some adds for Stevens and even looked over there website and talked to a recruiter. I eventually passed on them after reading this thread and have since gotten a great job. I still see there trucks on the road and wonder might have been.
