Stevens Transport,Prime Inc or Trans Am

I don't know about these companies but it seems that in today's market you've got to do your job hunting different than the rest of the students coming out. If I were you and just starting out I would try every option that is available to me before I listened to any school or recruiter.

I'd find out as many companies as I could that is reasonable to my needs and go and see them if I could. That's where I'd start first, go out to as many terminals as you can and apply in person. Next you could go on line and try there and then last you could let a recruiter or school point you in the right direction. Just remember a good job has no need to advertise for drivers. Plus you'll know you covered all your bases before you took any job.

It's best to make a couple of lists. One would be for what type of company you'll be looking at then the other is for your goals and what you expect out of a company plus where you want to be in 1 year, 5 years, and on to retirement. Call it a wish list if you must but at least you can start a data base for the companies. If you need to work right away and are stuck with these choices I'm sure someone here will help. I couldn't find Prime or trans Am on SafeStat but Stevens Transport is there and the numbers are not that bad. There're not great but both the drivers and vehicles summary of safety evaluations are around 41. You need more information on the other companies to find them on SafeStat.
