So, im currently in School through a private company to get my CDL, i have been searching endlessly it seems like for a company that i can get a hint that i wont get screwed over, my question is simple, is there such thing as a otr company that will hire you with no exp. and not charge you a fortune for another session of training (that i just went through a private school for). i have talked to some of the big companies like schneider, star, etc. etc. but i keep hearing from other drivers that they make you sign contracts for a set time with them and if you leave for any reason you have to pay back a bunch of money. Are there companies out there that WILL hire new drivers who already have their cdl and NOT charge them 3500-4000 bucks to train all over again? any help would be greatly appreciated! its been a exhausting hunt for companies lol
Still searching?

Not sure what you mean by private school. Are you saying Community College if so most companys or at least the ones I have checked out have a list of approved schools. And if you already have a CDL all you should have to do is go to orientation and hit the road with a trainer or mentor. Anyone please chime in if I am wrong. Good luck to you.
kickin chicken Thanks this. -

by private school i mean its owned privately by a retired truck driver, he is accredited through the DOT, but he doesnt allow the recruiters in at graduation due to the fact that he knows most of them arn't always honest
who know they werent? lol anyway i knew my next step was hitting the road with a trainer/mentor but i have heard that most of the big companies will charge you 3-4k to drive with the mentor if you breach their "contract" of whatever time they set. and i wasnt to sure if that was accurate or if their were any suggest companies i should look in to.
