First of all, I want to thank everyone for their comments in the thread. And a special thank you to: @Texasmorrell @hunter2222
@littlemoney @ubu. Folks, I still haven't been paid. I came here after a long time. So it's time to get my money. I will contact Halliburton first. If that doesn't fix the issue, then I will go to small claims court. As someone with the user id "STING" had posted here. I called their office in Midland, TX and just got the usual run around. The number that is listed with FMCSA:
STING SERVICES LLC
4801 CR 1200
MIDLAND, TX 79705
817-789-1405
I am going to have to do some research from State of TX and pull out some legal documents.texasmorrell Thanks this. -
Any update on this? I have a similar issue right now with a company that owes me since mid October. What is the best way to proceed if the money owed is over the 10K small claims court threshold?
-
Are we talking a broker? File opn their bond and be prepared to kiss the money goodbye. If they own that much there is no bond left.
Are we talking running under another's authority type deal? If so, good luck collecting as even if you win in court you still have to collect....
Silly question. How on God's good Earth did you get over 10k in the hole? -
10k to the truck was about 3-4 days work when sand paid well.
Rates shouldn't have bottomed out until December 2014. -
Running under their authority. Had two trucks working for them for two weeks. They were supposed to pay me on the third week (after two weeks in the hole) but never did, so I pulled my trucks out. I might just have to do small claims court and recover at least a portion to avoid all the legal fees.

Yea. Good thing is most lawyers do have a free consultation. Go find one that specializes in contract law and see what they say. Who knows, they might just feel like it's a winnable case and offer to do a deal to get paid only if they win.
Likely those take a good chunk of the payout, but still might be a better option.
If you do go the small claims though keep in mind this is how it will go.
1. Sue them, and win. Judges orders them to pay.
2. You bill them. They don't pay.
3. You take them back to court to get seize assets. You win.
4. There are no assets to seize, as in the last couple years the company went away.
At least that's pretty much what happened when I tried small claims court in Texas. Of the research I've done since, it seems most states are that way.southtxtrucking84 Thanks this. -
Can someone tell me a decent company to work for as a company driver for a water hauler or fraction sand outfit?
-
Where are you located??
-
Hmmm.. Are you sure you were working for the real Sting? or maybe it was an imposter like NWO Sting.
