Ok I'm in need of some emergency help. I have a 09 International ProStar with a ISX Cummins. A few weeks ago the "warn engine" light would come on and at times the "stop engine" light would come on, so I replaced the crankcase filter and it all went away till now. We replaced the crankcase filter and oil filter last night but the "warn engine " light stayed on and the "stop engine " light kept coming on ever couple miles. So I took it to a shop and they pulled the codes and all it brought up was 1 for "aftermarket 1 diesel catalyst system" and 1 for a "face plugged". They was not able to clear codes. So I was told to keep it under 60 mph and see if it would come back on and it didn't. so I drove 40 miles to a international dealer and they pulled codes on it again and said that all it would probably need is a regen so they cleared the codes and done a force regen. Once that was done he checked the codes again and nothing showed up. So I left and a few miles down the road I noticed my temp gauge was reading about 220 and then the "warn engine" light came back on then a few minutes the "stop engine" light would come on then the "warn engine" light would go out. Once I stop and turn the truck off then back on the lights would be off but would do it all over again within a few miles or less. And now I'm noticing that there is oil blowing out of the blow by hose, and it's only started that on this trip. Another issue I'm having and this might be part of it, is I'm burning through a lot of oil, like at least a gallon a week if not more. But it's not leaking anywhere and it's not going into the fuel tanks. So I have no clue. I'm stumped on this along with a couple other people. So now I'm stuck in Albuquerque trying to figure out what the problem is. So ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What's the mileage on the tractor?

I'm no mechanic, but I'd hazard a guess that you're burning the oil. Which would cause your DPF to become clogged, thus needing a regen. If it's using that much oil, it could be doing a 'passive' regen all the time while you are driving. Which would create heat, and the higher water temps. Sounds like it may be time to overhaul it.

Well it's never overheated till this trip. It's always been under 200

What do you mean by over heat? I wouldn't even worry at 220F.

Well the temp is usually between 170 and 190. It never goes up to 220.

Then it's not overheating. Just running a bit hot.
