I think by now that we now know that it is a difference in between an O/O ,vs being independent. My theory is that if the drivers would go independent that we can start to really control the rates.Don't get me wrong you can make money leased on,but I have seen times before the rates went to crap that I could gross 4000 just off of 1600 miles, and be home Friday evening. My next theory is that the big boyz,ie large carriers are ditching their drivers, and leasing us on paying us on an all mile basis.Which is great, but .95 cent all miles is a rip off. They are just trying to cut cost on their overhead. Just my thoughts.

what exactly are you asking an owner operator ?
-
You also think large carriers haul freight for pennies in an effort to undercut competition? That, sir, is crazy talk. I bet next you're gonna try to tell us that elogs and governers don't improve highway safety. Where do you come up with this stuff?Tropsnart, tech10171968, pumpkinhead and 2 others Thank this. -

You telling me not to do it, makes me want to do it.
Your logic is flawed. -
Man you are really angry !!! I hope that I haven't stepped on any toes ?? Large carriers lease guys ,and provide them trailers, ins, tags we all know the deal.If the O/O could just get a taste of really being their own boss, and having the flexibility to actually ask the question. .....is that rate negotiable. Man that would really turn things around for the trucking world.By the way we really have more power than we know. Everything is negotiable ie,company guys starting pay, lease on guys some just don't know ,or just afraid to ask.
