Would you believe I routinely got farther with Angie in my Dad's manual 88 Volvo 740 (Turbo) sedan (bucket seats) that had a digital tuner? Looking backwards, if only I knew good tunes were the password to Valhalla with her . . .
Stopped at a loves last night and saw this

@D.Tibbitt
1st.. ..I question anything you see at a Love's
2nd..... thing I question you describe as " beauful artistic".. because of #1
#3..... since you grew up involved in music .You surely are familiar with the classic Kinks's song Loyla .. which reverts back to #1 & #2.
# 4 which is the most important is .. I belive your correct in the post I quoted...I hope you find humor in my post because with a thread title .. I stop at Love's last night and saw this... I can't help itOxbow Thanks this. -
one of the guys on the Adam Carolla Show podcast does fake intros over songs and he is hilarious . -
my cabin has no internet and limited cell signal
You gotta stand in just the right place to make a call or text ,
although my son went with me last week to plant a deer plot and help me replace the water heater , and he brought his brand new iPad ,
I tried texting pictures of the snow to my friend in Florida , and didn’t have enough signal , yet the new iPad got two bars , which was enough signal to stream a movie.
anyhoo
I’m there a lot of Friday and Saturday nights and enjoy country music , not enough signal to stream WSM,
And somehow it just seems authentic to listen to the grand ole opry on Friday and Saturday night , in southern Appalachia ,
So far back in the woods you gotta have 4wd to get there , on an old AM radio that kinda fades in and out all night .
Something my grandpa would have done.
Except his AM radio wouldn’t have had a cassette player .Last edited: Mar 14, 2022

Driving at night was certainly better when the clear channels were in-impeded. I listened to WBT all over the southeast and into Texas.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
There was a clear channel station I remember listening to back in the 70s when I was in the USAF in California. Lots of good music. While driving my two favs was WSM and WSB. For years WSB would rerun the Neal Boortz show. I always enjoyed his callers. She no longer works for WSB I had a great friend that worked for the WSB station manager, but I was always hearing from her about the letters and emails that WSB got saying he needed to be fired!
