Licking your eyebrows? Meh. The girls I knew when I was younger weren't impressed unless you could part your hair with your tounge. :p

We had an '87 model with an automatic. That turbo 4 cylinder had some get-up-and-go! And yeah, that digitally tuned radio pulled in the right things to set the mood.

Brings back memories of Korvettes and Two Guys. Out front they had these huge crates filled with every kind of music known to man. I'd spend more time than I should have combing through that stuff just to find the diamond in the rough. Good times.

When I lived in Biloxi my roommate had a fancy stereo with Double cassette recorders and I would record the replay of boortz from midnight to three or whatever it was and then listen to it the next day while I was driving . was nice to be able to fast forward through the endless commercials .

I listen to several podcasts now , Adam Carolla show and Mike Rowe and Under The Hood and Wait Wait and there’s no way I could stand listening to talk radio now , they have more commercials than talk.

You need my wife to clean for you. Our place isnt bad, but she basically tends to feel anything not used for a month is probably just hoarding so wants to throw it all away, 0 sentimentality to her on probably 95% of stuff. She isnt allowed near my desk or garage.

LOL, all too often my wife will ask me in the sweetest manner, "Would you like me to help you clean the shop?" Uh...NO THANK YOU!

My parents had a Blaupunkt 45 player in the VW they bought in 59 while we were in Germany.

Wasn't really practical. Only played on side. And with 3 kids in a VW not much room for a box of 45s.

I'm parcial to good horn speakers. Back around the early 2000's, I put together a mid-high end system comprised of a vintage tube amp and tube pre-amp, CD player with a high-end DAC, Klipsh Cornwall speakers, and a sub driven by a solid state amp. I also had a decent turntable, but few albums at the time, mostly CDs. Both were amazing to listen to. CD's had more dynamic range, but vinyl has a warmth that can't be matched.

I've had that system described as the closest thing to live performance people have heard, more than once. Frankly, it was magical to listen to. Nothing I'd heard since my youth in the 70's had compared in my memory. To explain how good a proper stereo sounds to someone that hasn't heard one is impossible. They have to be heard. Audio is one of the few technologies that as regressed as time has gone on.
