You can find these at the local thrift stores for $5 bucks. Okay, one speaker doesn't work, and the cassette skips, but what's the difference? Noise is noise,,,and why did I ever buy this tape" 2 cycle Detroit noises for the trucker",,,

Back in 1978, I was sent TDY back to Chanute AFB for my Air Force 7 level training. That player on the left looks close to what I bought there I think I paid around $35 for that then. That thing was still playing tapes in the early 2000s when I finally gave it away. I do remember sitting in the visiting NCO quarters listening to the Grand Ole Opry on WSM while there on that thing.

well this goes to put blame on those that "wanna stay out forever", or "have no place to live", or whatever they say, to get behind the wheel.

if they had a home address, they could buy many more items for cheap on Amazon. so those people suffer from having to buy at the truck stops.

anyone buying truck stop merchandise, deserves the screwing they get.

I have an older radio very much like the one on the right

it’s at my cabin and I listen to the grand ole opry on it ,

it pulls in the AM signal pretty good as soon as it gets dark outside .

This was why my father ALWAYS had a backup CB radio. If his main one went down he installed the backup until he could get home and to the only radio shop, he trusted. I will take this a step further. It's not so much I rather buy off Amazon. The last time I was in a Truckstop I noticed some things that were almost double the price I could find in BEST BUY. Airports are also places to avoid making impulse purchases!

That's because WSM is a clear channel station. WSB in Atlanta is another one.

There is enough stupid people moving through there (both truckers and four wheelers) that they will probably sell very well. People fall for that crap all the time. Most will end up regifted or in a landfill.

I would almost bet money the idiot that pushed this idea grew up in a time where they never even used one.

I've seen some where the cassette player was just fake, didn't work. Just a radio meant to look retro.
