How exactly do you keep mice out? A sign on the door? "No lot lizards. Or mice. Have a nice day." Ok, asking seriously.

sitting is rough on a truck, driving it every so often will help make sure its run for at least a couple hours when you do to evaporate all the moisture out of everything. when you get ready to use it again change all fluids no matter how few miles are on them as time takes there toll on fluids as well as use. also keep in mind the alot of things don't stop aging even though the truck is not in use. things like belts hoses tires batterys. plan on needing to replace much of that stuff when you get ready to put the truck back into service.
to help with keeping varmin out moth balls ect help also don't let the grass grow up around the truck seal up any openings that they might be able to get in threw. obviously make sure there is no food in the truck and thoroughly clean it before parking. leave nothing that would make convent nesting material. might even consider removing the mattress from the truck. basically by offering them nothing making access dificult and adding something they don't like such as moth balls, should help keep them away frequent human activity helps as well.jmarsh91 Thanks this. -
Change the engine oil, throw some fuel stabilizer into the tanks, trickle charge the batteries, cover the exhaust stack, air up and cover the tires and put some moisture absorber in the cab.
Staring and driving it one mile once in a while will hurt more than help.jmarsh91 Thanks this. -

Don't believe oodia, it is possible but costly. I started at 19, my first insurance quote was 23,000 a yr needless to say I didn't go with that company. Ended up settling for 12000 a yr with half paid up front. As far as dot number you age should have nothing to do with it. Getting the Icc was a bit if a chore but you can do it. The only road experience I had was a farm truck and a non cdl 28ft straight flat bed.
