Stormy Night Oklahoma-Arkansas tonight 10-20

We are looking at a increasingly strong outbreak that has a little bit of everything beginning in a few hours tonight in Oklahoma then Arkansas to Memphis by Sunrise. It will have a little bit of everything in it.

Watches are up already, this tornado watch will be the first up. There will be more to the North and east as the system rolls towards Memphis in the night. East of Little Rock is timed to be around 5 to 9 am. A noisy morning, hopefully without tornados. But nighttime storms are dangerous than daytime storms generally.

Cells being born west of Oklahoma City, West of Dallas, In the west of Shreveport and several other locations. As the time goes by many more cells will born, get big and move east as a herd and then try to organize themselves into a formal storm line. It's when these cells are alone and big is where the big threats are.

North Dallas county in Texas looking at a tornado ongoing estimated to be between 120 to 160 mph for the next hour with chance for strengthening and additional down stream. This isnt far from Dallas itself I think.

El Dorado Arkansas will have tornado visitors in a short while. Additional storms closing on texarkarna.

 

The line has finished forming from San Antone all the way up through KC.

Arkansas has the expected Tornado watch up which will stay up until daylight. Memphis. Jackson and Paducah will get involved a little later in the morning.

We had several near or through Fayetteville already and one or two by Mena. There is a small group ahead of the main line, but that one will be a annoyance and wet. And maybe add fuel to the main stormline arriving sometime in the night.

Hopefully this line will hurry up and get through in the night. Its a school day and having 1500 kids gather at 8 am in several school complexes will be a problem if the tornados show up then. They do have FEMA bunkers for 1400 souls for the kids first always in those school complexes plural in the area here. So let\'s hope nothing comes of these things. They have been already destroyed once in the '99 outbreak Jan 21 and rebuilt to the same standard with one exception the new FEMA. The one in Vilona, a ten million dollar elementry school was crushed a few years ago by a EF4 that pulled paint from the cement of the bypass highway surface as it went up hill straight towards that place. They have rebuilt it along with the town and this time there are shelters big enough to take storms like that.

There isnt really much of anything to do but get some sleep and wait for the noise to arrive. Then Memphis can have it all lol.

 

That one was confirmed tornado and it's presentation was pretty good. Its clear it tore up some stuff. And hopefully never people.

Springfield MO last night had like five or 6 come at them out of the hills. Hopefully nothing came of those. For us it was noisy and not sleepable which is not too bad for some of us. Morning coffee time.
