Anyone running straights on a DPF motor? I'm curious if it's still loud or a little more mellow. I traded my 04 Freightliner Coronado in on a 15 Lonestar with a 600 Cummins and miss my straights. This thing is entirely too quiet. Thanks.

Normally larger diameter pipes tone and quieten things down but if it has a DPF on it doesn't matter what diameter pipes are on it. It will always be quiet.
Vampire, Studebaker Hawk and Long FLD Thank this. -
Straight pipes will only be for looks if you have a dpf. And you need the high dollar ones to keep them from discoloring from the heat. If it were me, I'd run a weed burner and put dummy straights on.

I can't even put straights on my non DPF Acert so what I've been told
-
You can, technically they're supposed to have the catalytic converter mufflers on them though.

On the pre-dpf Acerts that was how they met the emission requirements without egr.

Instead of wasting your money on straight pipes buy some testosterone pills,

You can suck it there Swiftie. I don't need testosterone pills because I'm not a washed up has been like you are.
I spoke with a guy who had a set on a 14 Pete 389 with a 500 Cummins and it wasn't loud but it wasn't as quiet as stock but I wasn't sure if he had ran a straight pipe thru the dpf filter as I forgot to ask about it.OlegMel Thanks this. -
Does the straight pipes effect the exhaust system negatively in any way on the Acert?
