I remember the Amish. And their horses. Not too shabby for being horses but when I pick a careful pass trying to use no power at all is interesting. Clop clop clop is good. Sparking shoes and scramble is not good. Cannot help it. But most all of them pretty much held their ground which must be something.

Had a little mack once hardly anything in it or on it. By the time you finished a smoke waiting for her to reach water temp it's a cloud of blue from ground to about 20 feet (Inversion layer) surrounding the #### witch.

Then stand on the floor all day (Fuel pedal) taking what gears there are, some are gone. Forget them just overwind as needed. It did have jacobs. Flip flip and wake up the poor town early in the morning, local lawman come after me then. I always tell him there is 60 ton in that box what would you like on this here hill? No one getting hurt? Thats why I do what I do. Write me whatever you like we gotta go.

(I don['t think its 60 ton, but if I don't know HE don't know either...)

Once in a while they did just that. Cost me some money for that noise.

If I was me and needed a place to live it would not be on a hill. I finished about 15 years on a curve where I quit hearing the jacobs trucks slowing to 25 but definately bolt awake on those that used too much air waiting for the big flop they sometimes take on it.

X1heavy: same here. Clop clop clop is good.

A few of them with sparking shoes and one diving for the ditch with the driver’s legs and body as straight as a board pulling back on the reins to no avail. (The mennonites are alright, shallow ditch.)

I thought straight pipes with no Mufflers are illegal?

Loud trucks are obnoxious, and the loudness gets old real quick.

Now listening to the big cam idle, that's a Melody that is music to my ears...

REAL QUICK lol. I straight piped my f750 and thought it was cool until I had a race at summit point wv. After 1,300 miles there and 1,300 miles back it got mufflers again lol. The drone on the highway drove me nuts.

Dino soar: in Canada, under federal law, the turbocharger is the muffler.

The vehicles are built under federal regulations.

All the provinces have their own rules under the highway traffic act.

But the companies that build the vehicles build them under federal rules.

My last no muffler ticket was tossed in court.

Federal rules supersedes the provincial rules.

Same for cars or pickups that have a turbocharger.

A Chrysler Neon SRT-4 has a turbocharger and the manufacturer didn’t even install a muffler.

Even the owner’s manual specifically states they come factory with no muffler.

Police still hand out tickets anyway.

Neon owner goes to court, shows the judge the factory manual, judge ripped ticket up.

FlaSwampRat: my 1997 Dodge Cummins was straight piped not long after purchasing the truck in 2008.

After a while, the drone on the highways really got to me.

Installed a performance muffler for a while.

A year later, I dropped the automatic tranny, installed a manual, and now have 6 inch dual stacks that makes nice deep rumbling sounds.

The drone is gone, replaced by a house vibrating, window rattling deep rumble at low rpms. It’s even quiet when doing that.

Canada is so much more civilized than the states, in so many ways.

The laws are similar if not the same in the states as @Shawn2130 said. If comes down to state laws but a turbo does count as a noise canceling device as far as the law is concerned. He brought up the srt4 neon and it's the perfect example primarily because no muffler and neons are the best cars ever lol. Side note...that f750 race hauler hauls neons, I've been racing them since my first acr neon in 1998.. still got it and rallyx it. Screenshot_20190904-074846.png
