Right so I don't exactly want to change the pipes on this truck, I just want to make it really loud, so how do I go about straight piping it? Is it usually a do-it-yourself thing or do I have to take it in to a shop?

Guys running straight pipes and wonder why "no engine brake" signs keep appearing...............
2fuzy Thanks this. -
My opinion...Straight pipes are for idiots! These ###### things are noisey enough without making them LOUDER!

whatever FLEX PIPE FROM TURBO DOWN TO Y PIPE THEN FLEX PIPE UP TO STACKS NO MUFFLERS LOUD AND PROUD . if you drive it nice and easy never get looked twice at . if you drive like an idiot than your to blame . if i want mine to be loud it is.. if i wanna roll across the colorado scales with NO mufflers they dont even look twiceat me if you want a weed burner then take the top stack off mount it under cab to flex pipe off turbo loud and low

my 98 379 has 6" straights it is the 70" ultra sleeper and if i keep it at 1400 rpm it's quiet i can talk on the phone with the window down... 1500 + rpm depending on which gear i'm in it's an ANIMAL AND REAL LOUD JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT !!!!!

Here's my question.. The truck ill be getting is going to be under warrenty.. But I don't wanna wait till the warrenty is up before I modify it.. So are there any ways to make er loud without straights.. Maybe just taking the muffler off.. Putting flex pipe.. And leaving my stacks stock size? Also.. Taking the muffler off a diesel.. Will that make it smoke.. Also the truck is a 2010 w900
