Straight truck/expedite O/O

Hi There,

I'm looking to see if anyone can help me with this one. I've been wondering about getting my own straight truck but I've been hearing a mixed bag of good and bad and don't know where to go with it. Can you do well with it? Even with the cost of fuel today and all other expenses? Where do you start? Loadboards. I've reached out to "Loadlink" and they have a free trial which consists of 1 page of real live loads over several pages, and to see the rest, they already want me to start paying a membership fee. I don't want to spend a dime if I don't know what I'm getting into. They say over the phone that there is lots of work in my area but I want to see for myself to know if it's worth it or not. What little info I've found doesn't seem to show any loads around where I live(Kingston, Ont.) They all seem to be around Toronto and Quebec which means a fair bit of empty miles. Could anyone on here possibly lead me in a good direction? Your help is much appreciated. Thank You, Be Safe.
