I've had ST for 3 years now. I love it. $49.74/month, uses AT&T service. Had a nokia E71, pulled the SIM and put it in a 3gs. I see no sense in going to a regular phone plan when I have unlimited everything for this price. I've never been over 1 gig in a month even tethering it.

If switching from an ATT or other contract phone to straight talk, dont you have to buy a ST sim card that is approved for that phone in order to get the data package to work?
-
It's called the bring your own device program. Straight talk sends you a sim for $15.

Thats what I thought...its what we do anyway. The other post made it sound like you could just take your sim and drop it straight into another phone. Our sim cost 20 plus the 45 for the unlimited plan....well worth the price.

The only exception is if you have a Nokia E71. You can pull the sim out and put it in an iphone. The newer iphones (4s and 5) have the micro sim, but you could always order one.

Thats exactly what I did with my Iphone 3GS

Sure wish I had an Iphone....cant afford it on the low mileage pay we're getting. If anyone has one has had an upgrade and has an older one thats just laying around collecting dust, Id be happy to have it.

Ive been with straight talk for almost a year. Cut my bill in half. When i got a phone that used verizons coverage instead of at&t's it became well worth it. I have the Samsung Proclaim and havent had any issues at all. They also offer insurance now as well. Although dont try to bother with customer service, not the most helpful.

The first phone my Sig Other was bought was a ST phone and it didnt have enough memory for much internet. The phone hes on now is an unlocked ATT Samsung Captivate and it seems to do well with internet. I guess it all depends on the phone you get. Just found out today that ST is also doing home phone service. Not sure how thats going to work, but for $15 a month, its worth a try.
