OK, I'll take you at your word that you're an ex-driver.

Even though you have never been left stranded like this, surely as an ex-driver, you have heard of it happening? Because this has been going on for years.

Never leave home for a truck, or with a truck, without a way to get back home. You shoulda known this.

If it were my son, I'd be on line selling my stuff to get him the money, instead of #####ing on a forum.

I think the original poster was looking for a handout...very hard to believe this is a true story.

How does a parent, first time poster, find a trucking forum on same day as child is fired? I've been in transportation since 1988, only found this forum , by accident, maybe 4 to 5 months ago.... mostly just read things. Didn't sign up til may 2 weeks ago. OP wasn't asking for help to get kids home....OP comes off as bashing. If OP was a former driver, than OP must know ways of getting by on the road after years of driving.

 

Well it's been about a 1000 years since I was at CRE or JBHUNT, but I'm almost certain they just didn't leave people at the terminal. They gave them a bus ticket back.

 

This is why I always drive my own car to orientation
And get my own motel room by myself.
Trust no one who owns a truck.

 

It would have been the right thing to do by Wylie. A bus ticket isn't going to break them. Regardless, if the situation, they brought him out there, they should send him back.

 

I could see them saying your on your own for a failed drug test, but that's the only reason.
