For me I think it was the parking lot of a bank. I was right across the street from the police dept. I kept expecting to get told to move. I was bobtail.
Strangest place you ever parked for a 10 hour break?

I think near the J in North Platte. It was late and wtf packed. Rigs everywhere. I was really fried, and stayed in the residential section across the overpass right next to half a dozen " No truck parking " signs.
Or on a feeder road next to the 580 near Oakland right in front of these upscale hotels.NavigatorWife and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
Some residential area in rural Florida, near a swamp. Behind a bunch of bushes in the CA desert on some gravel pull off. A firestation in the back roads of new York state cause black ice was everywhere (these were the kind of roads a moon shiner could barely travel.) STAA approved, riiiiight.

At a car wash in Cheyenne. I was actually there to deliver the new automatic car wash machine. People look at you funny when you are sitting there watching them vacuum out thier cars.

Probably some shopping mall in Washington. It had a lot of no overnight parking signs but another truck and I said F it.
We don't deliver too far from the interstate, for the most part. I'm always at the truck stop in most cases.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Middle of nowhere in Yellowstone National Park.

Nothing exciting but an abandoned gas station somewhere between Ocelata and Tulsa, Ok. Other than that it was all rest areas/plazas and truck stops. Well except one shopping mall in NJ, that allowed semi parking.

At the horse and mule stables right in the Grand Canyon national park. I had a load of oats for them. The farmer had a load of straw, he had the contract for thirty plus years. He had permits for us to come in the east gate, which normally is not allowed as the road is really tight on some of the curves for anything with a trailer. We got in just before sunset. So I was able to get some photos and then dined at the restaurant right on the edge.
