I am new to the flatbed division but as far as I learned you can't do that? DOT can bust your ##### for that.

Don't listen to everything you hear. Lots of "regs" people talk about are bs stories some old timer cooked up while waiting for a pay phone. Or some DOT guy got out of control and the driver didn't know his head from his foot and just bent over and picked up a ticket.

Now me I took my sawzall and cut the rubrail off that way I cannot get it wrong. I also like to use 100 mile n hour tape as edge protections, and contraception for the lot lizzard. Just use it sticky side out.

Really? Get ready to stay in the State ugly, stinky and disgusting hotel very soon... This is not a joke, prison is on the way of guys like you. Any speeder, specially truckers, they don't care about life. I have no sympathy for the thing that will happen to a person with this kinda statement.

I hope I may be wrong and understood your statement wrongly. Any way, be safe guys!

It was an attempt at humor.

You're gonna wear yourself out getting worked up that easily.

Are there rubrails on an RGN? Rarely, ironically though I'm looking at a 2002 XL Spec. that has rubrails.

    What a #######.

    1. Use a shorter strap. With that much strap wound up in the winch, you'll never get it tight. He didn't.

    2. With a load that tall, one twist will keep the straps from singing and bouncing/fraying.

    3. I always go inside the rub rail unless it just won't line up with a slot.

    4. The edge protector will do more damage to the bags than the strap.

Myself....I use Vee Boards for bagged product...Roofing felt rolls...Roofing tiles and masonry product...

Saves wear and tear on the straps for the hard stuff like block and...Helps to evenly distribute the tie-down force from straps on bagged product....

Nothing like having a bag get crushed and then break open.....

Easier to take the time and secure it properly then to have to explain to DOT why you have a trail of stuff following you on the ribbon....
