Has anyone experienced this? I’ve been driving trucks for a few years but I got a night job a few months ago. When I start it just begins to get dark and when I get home it’s still dark, I get to sleep right around sunrise. I haven’t been getting out in the day, and I’m not getting much sunlight or interaction with people. When I get home it’s around 4 am and everything is closed so I’ve really just been going between work and home. On my days off I go to Walmart at night because they’re the only place open late. I’m starting to feel really stressed over it, but maybe it’s because I just moved to a new area.

Tonight is my night off and I’m just staying in because there’s nothing to do. I’m hoping to get my motorcycle shipped down to me soon so I can ride it at night and have something to do.

I used to come home and sleep for a few hours. Then get up and take care of things. Catch a couple hour nap right before work and I was good to go.

Good idea, I think my manager does this, but I work 12 hours a day so it would be hard for me to wake up for only 2 or 3 hours then get back to sleep. I like to get 8-9 hours of sleep

Used to happen to me too. I'd go through good and bad times. Sweden has the highest suicide rate in the world because of lack of day light. They did some studies and found that a UV light for about one hour a day helped people fight the depression so much . Your mileage may vary, but, I hope it helps.

I read that in Russia some schools put the children in a room with a UV light a few times a year. I’ve looked online before for UV lights but couldn’t find any. I’ll probably just have to stay up one day and sit outside for a while. Luckily summer is coming.

Nights are tough. I think much more suited for the younger crowd.

I feel your pain i work 6pm to 6am , blacked out bedroom windows , white noise machine , fans running , miss all the partys and normal goins on.
I started living this way 25 years ago on tour and never could right my ship , i stay active at work and try to interact with people and a lot of walking and fresh air , Covid sucks , a lot of stores that were open 24/7 now close at 10.
I like it , i can get more done than our day driver cause everybody is in bed.
    Hang in there.

Perhaps I’m an anomaly, but i like running nights. No doubt about it though, it is tougher on the sleep pattern. I totally see why people don’t do well with it. If it’s not well suited to you, change things up and get a job that is primarily days.
