Strike??? Please!!!!

As stated it will never happen. I've been reading posts on this forum for the last two days and there I've found that no two drivers can agree on any one thing at all. So a nation wide strike is out of the question.

Here's an easier way!
Run 100% legal
logs
time
speed
etc.

When your hours are up, then stop for the "down time (10 hours)".
Do you really think all companies would fire every driver? NOT.

 

I am not sure that's what they would want to strike over. One of the biggest abusers of drivers logs electronically and won't allow you to do ANYTHING illegal.

 

Yeah I like the IDEA of a strike but the reality of a strike is always disappointing cause Drivers are so independant they have to be! I like the Idea of Protests involving trucks much better! I got a kick out of that State capitol Convoy they had a few years ago with all the trucks driving slowly around the state capitol honkin they horns and Promenadin! I cant remember which state it was but I thought the idea might catch on but it didn't.....too bad!

If your unemployed,the state will pay your tuition to go to a trucking school and get your CDL.
Then...
The state will pay,in tax breaks,to companies like swift and werner to hire student drivers.

How stupid would truckers actually be to go on strike??

This country is already trying to replace old truckers who make to much money with new blood that will work for 3-400 a week and stay away from their families for 1-2 months at a time,or longer.

The dumbest thing truckers could do imo,is go on strike.
Thats what the guberment and big trucking companies want.It means more money for them both and less money to move product around the country.

 

The only way you'll ever see the trucking industry shut down is if all the fuel trucks go on strike which I doubt.

 

Sure,it could happen.
But then Obama would call in the military drivers to transpost fuel to every local station across the country,just long enough for the next graduating class of cdl drivers to take over.
Fuel trucks going on strike would last about 6-12 hours,long enough for the story to hit CNN,but not long enough for the country to feel any kinda pinch.

Then every campain would be based on how to stop the evil truckers,not how to stop wars or illegals,or foreclosers,or healthcare or etc etc etc.
