I have a Stryker 497 hpc and for some reason while only in the RECEIVE mode it intermittently knocks out the satellite signal to my garmin gps.
If I transmit it has no negative effect at all.
It only shows up intermittently in the receive mode.
If I shut the radio off with in 3 or 4 seconds the signal returns.
I have tried it with3 different garmin gps all running at the same time and get the same results from all three?
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Never does it transmitting even under high power?
Just out of the blue on receive it loses satellite signal?
It’s the oddest thing…
Shut the radio off and everything comes back on. -
Do the 2 pieces of equipment share the same power source, or circuit. If so radio drawing to much power?. Stray RF effecting gpsHulld Thanks this.

Radio is hard wired in the over head and gps plugs in to the lighter socket so I don’t know?
I guess I will have to pull the lighter fuse and see if the radio goes out… -
Pull the radio out enough to put a little dummy load on the radio, they put it together, turn it on and see what happens.

I can try it ?
But it never does it when I key up the mic
only when on receive and intermittent?
My other thought is to increase the space between the windshield mounted gps and the radio. -
Try it and see if the problem goes away.Hulld Thanks this.

Odd how gps goes bonkers on radio rec..Radio is basicly idle...

I had a radio that was like this, it would interfere with my car radio (aftermarket). I put a dummy load on it, it stopped. I ended up replacing the coax because it was leaking. The radio was a midland, don’t remember the model number but it had a problem I never bothered to track down.Hulld Thanks this.
