I thought you blocked me. But I liked your post. I wish you well in your fight against the pain and the painkillers.

The trailer is worth exactly what your willing to pay for it. As truckers when we sell something we must command top dollar. When buying something we should tear it to pieces saying what a piece of junk it is and get the best price. You have to fight for everything or it’s hard to be successful.

Like @x1Heavy said you start low and end up somewhere in the middle with your negotiation.

Even if it’s not the case, act as if your going to have to throw new tires on it, new drums, new brake shoes, new shocks, new wheel seals, and maybe new door seals before you even start. Whatever amount that stuff costs then negotiate off the price.

Like was mentioned your not far off paying for a brand new one that’ll be pretty much trouble free for 5 yrs for 10k more.

End of the day we can’t make your decisions for you. :)

Edit: Oh and I highly dislike the whole you pay off the bank thing. Be mindful of scams.

Wabash are built cheaply and dont hold their value. Dealer wont give you squat for trade in on one. I could scale 47,500 lbs in my old KW I got rid of with my Great Dane dry van. I can scale 49,000 lbs with the Great Dane reefer trailer I pull with my current Freightliner and it's not a lightweight built trailer. It's all in how the trailers are spec'd. To say Great Danes are always heavier is flat wrong.

Food grade just means a clean trailer 99.9999% when someone says they want a food grade dry van they mean for you to show up with a clean, swept out trailer that doesn't smell like it hauled dog poop or anything. A true food grade trailer would not have any wood at all inside not even the floors but that's not really necessary most times when people say "food grade".

For comparison the same reefer hooked to the KW I could only scale 45,500 lbs in the box and I thought that KW was light. The FL has heavier 40K rears too but can haul 3,500 lbs more.

He doesn’t want no less then even a penny. I’ve been shopping around freaking ridiculous!!!! 2005 wasbash dry vans are selling for 10-12k am I lookin in the wrong place ?

I would rather drop 22k on this then pay 12k for a 2005 wabash that’s why I thought it was a good price

    I would too, or I’d pay 32k vs 22k or 12k.

    Where are you looking?

It’s too bad you need one so soon. Prices are dropping but dealers and sounds like private sellers even are trying to keep them up. I guess you could rent from Xtra for a while until the right one comes along? In my area they are 399/mo and .05 per mile.

I agree it's a great price. Anyone on here saying that 2016 GD is worth about $16-$18k is out of their mind and I guarantee they will never buy a good GD 2016 dry van for that $16-18k. 53 vans that new command a better price and sell quickly. If you try to lowball the dealer with a $16-$18k on that unit they will laugh at you. They dont even have to come off the price $500 and it will sell. Even in current freight conditions...

    Ok fine 22K done.

Im sorry I am such a cheap stake.

Once in a great while there is sometimes a trailer that shows promise due to a time honored great dane quality. I guess that would be it.
