I been reading every comment and started to picture it a little brighter. I am prepared to take the step and bust my ### for my family, even if it means being away from them.
But to end the topic. Seeing I dont see my family now due to my work shedule (since it allows me to go to school). I would hate obtaining that License and actually now having to not see them for a longer time.
My wife works for the same company I work for right now. Differences is she does 1st shift and I do 2nd shift. My wife keeps on telling me she supports me and knows how the life of a trucker is because her Dad (may he rest in peace) was one. But I keep telling her it is a different story when the trucker this time around is the person she married and felt in love with and wants around. Anybody agree? Or am I wrong. And should she get 2nd shift to at least be there for me while im doing my best to get my License? I just really want somebody to interact with while I still have time. Because once a trucker, like my Uncle said "Kiss everything you love goodbye and when you are back home treasure those days by treating your family to nice things to make up for all that time lost."

When did we as truckers become so touchy feely? Has Oprah become a trucker? Doctor Phil?
All good things come with sacrifice. Once we were a nation of explorers, now we have feelings. Mamma needs a man. Be one.CrappieJunkie, x1Heavy and gwilli89 Thank this. -
Hahaha im 21 man. I have never seperated myself from the Fam for so long.
I guess what im saying is: If im not a trucker yet then why the #### should I be sacrificing not seeing my family yet? I should be spending every last minute thats gonna lead to a long stretch one day. -
gwilli89 Thanks this.

Where is your location? We need to know the hiring area you live in because some of the best jobs you won't hear about in cdl school. The schools usually push Werner, Schneider, US Express, Swift, etc. There's dozens more out there. You're 21 yrs. old so that cuts the list some, but still a couple dozen to choose from.

@Chinatown I live im California (San Bernardino County)
And @awillis1357 I am ready for this life style. I may just be thinking OTC is my only option, since the person whos hiring me after school owns his own truck and is going to give me loads. I see this like an opportunity to learn at an ease pase rather than being #####ed at by some Dispatcher.
So yeah, I hate the fact that he had to be OTC. But what can you do, right? When an opportunity like this rolls by you got to grab it and not let go.
I just hate that I am also already missing family time even though I work at a warehouse trying to finish up school . -
Another thing off-topic.
Thanks to everybody who has commented. I respect your views and opinions on what type of person I may be representing myself to you.
And thank you all for having the courage to leave your loved ones behind to keep America or the Countey you may live in running. You are all truly heros in my book. Without Truckers, America or any other Country would not function. -
If you tire of working for your buddy, check Sygma Network. Great money in food service and probably home every day.
Lucy in the Sky Thanks this.
