Stuck in a Dilemma

Indeed. why not?

I buried my mom to complications of liver cancer at Arlington in 2004. The total time I have spent with her outside of my first three years of life can be measured in both hands in total of months. She came to visit with her husband, a Marine officer who provided for my freedom away from a life of ward of state being deaf mute by way of education. She visited 6 months prior to her death to our place here in Arkansas and it was a day to remember. When they left my wife pointed out I ran down the drive like a child who is not going to see the parent again forever. I did not notice that. But there it was.

All things considered, it's best to life whatever days you have been given with your family and those you love. life is too ####ing short to waste on parasites and trouble makers.

If it is one thing that will be hammered into many of you young ones is that life is such a gossamer (Fragile) thing to have and hold. The friend you had coffee with might leave 5 minutes before you do and there you are passing his rig wheels to sky as they extradict his mashed body under the 4 wheeler he tried to avoid. We once had a whole counter of drivers tell two people to stay with us and not go out there into a raging winter storm in a area of St Louis to the west of the downtown on I70 at the old 76 there, I cannot tell you now what the name of that place by the scales is to save my life. But I clearly remember two black bags containing their bodies after the rig rolled off the embankment at the truckstop entrance onto the service road back in the 90's the storm was ferocious and killed them then and there.

When I was young I would live forever.

Now Im old and will be gone, but I will live forever, in those who choose to remember me.

 

Meh, I'll give you six months.

If your wife's plan is to go to school, changing jobs now is a terrible idea.

A long term job is more likely to work around her school schedule and having a stable work history will aid her in showing future employers in her new field that she is dependable.

Local jobs always have experience needed signs but still hire right out of school because truckers are in short supply. Look harder.

 

^^^^^^ Or.... have the wife go to CDL school with YOU, and broaden your horizons of companies to hire on to!

 

Belated condolences on the passing away of your mother. May she rest in peace. May God be with her for all eternity.

This month was 35 years that my father passed away, (8/30/1921 - 7/2/1981), age 59. He had acute monocytic leukemia.
Coming September, it will be 9 years that my mother passed away, (5/31/1921 - 9/30/2007), age 86. She had heart disease and diabetes.

My parents were married for over 25 years, (1/1/1956 - 7/2/1981). When my mother passed away, she was in her 26th. year of being a widow. She had been a widow longer than she had been married.

Last year, 10/1/2015, I turned 59. Initially it scared me, only because my father was 59 when he passed away. Years go by quickly.

My parents always said if I have nothing good to say, then say nothing. But as a trucker I have to. If your are having trouble now while in school missing your family, find another line of work. Listen to your uncle. Good luck
