Thnx in advance fellas... my Freightliner sounds like a 2 stroke. All gauges and oils look fine. Loud popping sound coming from the motor/exhaust. The innercooler tubes feels really rough with the popping sound. The motor revs fine with no hesitation. Just popping sound gets louder. Im thinking a head issue. Im hoping some of you can point me in the direction of a good honest mechanic in the Columbus ohio area able to tackle this problem. I can go the dealer route but they wont even look at it till late in the week.. Your help is great appreciated.

Yes its popping..... i put it in a mom and pop shop close by... mechanics are not very good at diagnosingg... i been here a whole week now. After pulling valve covers and probingg around there mechanic noticed that the turbo pressure actuator deal... (i forget its real name sorry) was frozen shut. Then i asked, well if thats the case why dont u disconnect it and operate it manually while engine is running and see if that truly is the problem. Then i asked if he ruled out the innercooler because motor seemed to gasp for air. Turbo spools fine. I let them do their job. When i returned the turbo was out, exhaust manifold off .broken manifold bolt stuck in the block. I believe the problem is in the head or innercooler, mechanics believe the problem s the turbo actuator. Any thoughts? While it was running the innercooler hoses were making like a suction action
